History and values
Founded in 1949 by Rémy Gautier in Hédé, France, Société des Transports Gautier (STG) is a Brittany-based family company whose main activity at the time was the transport of livestock. It had two insulated lorries, three livestock lorries and one tanker.
While our founding values such as listening to our customers, local service, and trust have remained the same, we have expanded and evolved in our business, and our capacities have developed according to market progression and the expectations of our customers. Our business has moved from an export-based Breton market to the transport of finished products in line with the growth of the agri-food market.
To better meet your needs, we have increased our total number of sites by purchasing several companies across France: in Brittany and Ile-de-France in the 1980s; in Normandy, the North, Rhône-Alpes, Champagne-Ardenne, Alsace and Lorraine in the 1990s; in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Savoie, Auvergne and Loire in the 2000s; and finally in the Southwest with Renaud in 2010. Our national sphere of operations has grown and now spans all of Europe thanks to our German partner, NAGEL.
"Being at your disposal for accompany you on your markets"
Today, we represent the second generation pursuing the same goal: listening to your needs and providing support to you in your markets within the context of just-in-time deliveries while offering a comprehensive, personalised range of services.
Proximity, reactivity, and food safety remain our founding values, which are based on the expertise of women and men (3,500 employees) in the fields of transport and logistics. While continually striving for progress and modernity, we have changed our visual identity in order to raise our profile and simplify the sharing of information on our activities. From now on, our signature will become even more familiar to you in the heart of the French regions.
